Contact Info

For any particular questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me anytime. If I can't answer, please tell me the best way and best time to get back in touch with you. I'm often not immediately available, but I regularly check and respond to messages.

I do not discuss student individual student performance via email or voicemail, but can use either to arrange a time to talk with you by telephone or in person.

I also send out an irregular email newsletter when there are changes to our schedule and with any "sudden" important general information. Back issues are available on the class-news weblog, by clicking on “News” above.

Finding me during the school day is fairly easy, once I've established a routine. Look below for my schedule.

Questions & Conversation

Questions?I'm happy to answer questions, or chat, most any time. I generally return phone calls and answer emails within 24 hours.

email address: misterp@mathlore.net
(this relays to both school & home)

official email: peter.petto@lakewood.k12.oh.us

phone/text: 440-249-4289

(this virtual number relays to wherever I am,
or takes a voice message if I'm unable to answer;
btw, text messages are aok )

or you can leave a message at my official LHS voicemail: 216-227-5701 ext#8863

instant messaging: (AIM) ppetto3

(I don't use IM often, but try to make sure I have it on the evening before major quizzes and tests...up until my bedtime which isn't terribly late.)

fax: 302-371-2532

students have requested a fax number from me — sending something to me by fax counts as an electronic submission (I'm sorry it's not a local number; I'll see if I can find one of those somehow) — however in my experience, scanned documents sent via email are usually a better choice than fax

Suggestions Wanted!

I love to hear suggestions for improvement, from parents, from students, and from anyone else who is reading this. I don't care whether they are signed or anonymous.

If you have any thoughts about how this site, or the instruction of these courses can be improved, please tell me.

My Schedule

partial first-floor map

You will find me teaching in Rooms A127 and A129, working in Room A130, and tutoring across the street in the TLC (Mod 7). I'm happy to rendezvous with students who have questions; it's best to set something up with me earlier in the day, or better yet the day before.

  • First Period - Consumer Math (A127)
  • Second Period - planning & grading (A130)
  • Third Period - AP Statistics (A129)
  • Fourth Period - planning & grading (A130) & meetings
  • Fifth Period - lunch
  • Sixth Period - Statistics (A129)
  • Seventh Period - Consumer Math (A127)
  • Eighth Period - TLC tutoring (Mod 7)
  • Ninth Period - TLC tutoring (Mod 7)

Unscheduled Help

Before school, I'm nearly always in room A127 by 7:30 am. No appointment for before-school help is needed; it's first come, first serve. Do not hesitate to drop by if you need help, or assistance of any kind.

The best way to get me a message during the day is by email; second-best is a note in my mailbox (main office); and you can also try voicemail to my cellphone (or the school system) which I will eventually hear.

Unless I have a scheduled school meeting, I usually remain in Mod 8 until about 3:15 pm, and normally will stick around as long as necessary to help students who come to see me right after school. An appointment for after-school is always a good idea.

I check for messages left on my cellphone at the end of each day, and check #8863 voicemail sometime during each day.

Sending Me a File

The best way to get a file to me is to attach the file to an email message if it’s not too big; “too big” usually means ≥ 10 MB. Send it to misterp@mathlore.net .

Another way to send files to me is through Moodle or SchoolPointe. These can be a bit bigger, ≤ 16 MB as I recall. I'll be putting instructions for both methods here real soon now; and someday instructions for sending very large files.
