Algebra 1
Algebra is the entry point for the majority of incoming 9th graders. This course is the foundation for all future math courses. In this course, algebra topics are integrated with geometry, probability and statistics. Graphing lines, the study of functions, systems of equations and inequalities, polynomials, and square roots are all elements of the course. Many topics are woven together and applications are emphasized throughout. Reading and daily practice are critical to student success in this course. Demonstration of individual proficiency is required.
Student taking this course are required to have a TI-36 or higher scientific calculator.

Projects & such
The following assignments should be turned in during class on each indicated day:
Day |

Late work will be penalized 10% for each day that it is overdue.
I will announce extra-credit opportunities in class from time-to-time. In many cases you will also find these posted on our weblog, or noted in the slides from that day's class. Look at each one and consider whether you want to give it a try. Every successful extra-credit submission will replace your lowest homework, classwork, or bellwork score. (Extra-credit work has no effect on projects, or quiz scores.)

Make-up work for a day’s absence is due the day following your return to class. If you complete it and turn it in on the first day you return to class, you will receive a 10% scoring bonus. Like other work, it will be penalized 10% for each day that it is overdue.
Oh, and here are both a previous version of this page from the first quarter, a previous version of this page from the second quarter, and a previous version of this page from the third quarter; for your reference.
